This vest, featuring a slanted cut-out on one side and wide long turtleneck collar with a slit, is a study in balanced asymmetry. The body of the vest is worked in Stockinette Stitch with Garter Rib borders and hem. The collar is also worked in Garter Rib.
The vest is worked from the bottom hem. The back and front of the vest are worked flat as one piece with slanted cut-out shaping, then joined and worked in the round to underarms. The upper body is worked back and forth in rows; shoulders are shaped with short rows and joined with a 3-needle bind off. Stitches for the collar are picked up along the neckline.
